At the beginning of April I was fortunate enough to get to travel to my hometown of Hanna, Alberta, to do a book event. You can read my post about it here.
I wanted to share some pictures with you from that evening. It was cold. Like, -25 C cold. And no, I didn't dress for it. Of course not.
That would be logical.
(That's my sister dressed so awesome, with the stylish hat, who helped me out!)
Anyway, a big huge thank you to Hanna Municipal Library for their support. They had chairs and everything set up for me when I got there, and supplied coffee and tea to the people who came (I brought some snacks and juice, too). They even did some advertising for the event, which was so great, since it meant I wasn't sitting (well, standing) there talking to myself the whole night
There is something about local libraries that are just amazing. Well, there are a lot of things about them. I love libraries, all libraries, but both the town I grew up in, and my new home (where I did my launch), have been so incredibly supportive in terms of my new book, that they deserve special shout outs.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to libraries everywhere. And for goodness' sake, go visit yours.
What's your favourite thing about your local library? Remember - they have more than "just books" (though who on earth complains about "just books"?).
