Hello all, and happy Thursday! Happy March! Happy almost-spring-at-least-on-the-calendar...
I know on Thursdays I typically post a book review, but today I have something different. A favour to ask.
I am working on a new post. A long post. A post that has been a long time coming.
Several years ago now, I had two students in my senior high ELA class. These two were (still are, I assume) the type of student every teacher wishes she had. They were enthusiastic, strong readers, talented writers, and one-hundred-percent wonderful human beings. They were also best friends. I loved teaching them.
When they were finishing their grade 12 year, they asked me for a list of my favourite books. Or at least, what I considered the best books, my overall top list of recommended reads.
I told them I'd get back to them on that.
Well, like I said, that was years ago now, and I doubt they remember me or high school English, let alone that request. But I haven't forgotten it, and while I've thought about what books make my ultimate list over the years since they walked through those school doors for the last time, I haven't actually sat down to make that list yet.
Until now. I have officially started.
But the problem is, I keep remembering other books to add! So, here is where the favour comes in.
What are your personal top books of all time? Ones you loved, ones that mattered, ones that may or may not be excellent. I don't care about genre or awards or year published. Just books that mattered to you, that you recommend.
You see, this list has been such a long time coming, I don't want to forget a truly excellent book. So please send me your personal recommendations this week. Comment below, email me, message me on any of my social media accounts, or tell me in person if you know me in person... Doesn't matter! I just want to hear about your favourites.
I'm hoping for my list to finally be done this month... It is extensive and likely won't be in much of an order, but I want to hear your recommendations. We all love certain books... I want to hear about the ones you love.
Thank you so much!
