Before my trip to Mexico earlier this year, I wrote about some recommended beach reads. You can find that link here.
Well, by the time you are reading this I am laying out on a beach in Jamaica, so I thought I would revisit beach reads.
Instead of recommending specific reads, though, I thought I would review a few of the books I am packing on this trip.
And just to clarify, these are actual books. I am okay reading on the app on my phone in the evening in the hotel room, but sitting in the pool or laying in the ocean or relaxing on the beach, I like real books. When I unpack at home, it makes me smile that my books smell faintly of salty ocean air.
(I wrote this post, and all others that will be posted during my vacation, before leaving. Hence the verb tense confusion.)
In no particular order:
I am behind in my reading of the Dark Tower series, considering the film is already out. But I am not watching the movie until I finish the books! Book five and six are included together in this list, since they are from the same series.
They will be the first ones I read. I am looking at starting the first while waiting for the plane at a ridiculously early hour of the morning.
By now I am sure you have seen the super creepy trailer.
It took me a long time to read any Stephen King, but when I did I avoided his scarier stuff.
This trip, I am going to change that. My husband said he wanted to read this book before we see the movie (and I am going to need a lot of popcorn to get through that film!), and I figured, why not? So I plan on reading it when he's done.
In the sunshine. The bright, bright sunshine.
My husband and I read a book together. This is the one we are currently working our way through.
It is so good.
The character development in this story of a magically gifted young man who becomes the most notorious wizard in the world is riveting and moving. I cannot wait to find out what happens.
Yeah, I haven't read it yet. Haven't watched the show either.
Have I mentioned I really like men in kilts?
Time travel, intrigue, romance... and kilts....
I think I am going to enjoy this one.
You know, just in case the sun wasn't already hot enough.
